Sen. Lindsey Graham Dies at 71

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham died Saturday night at 71 after what his office called a "brief and sudden illness." His top aide said there was no indication he felt unwell in his final days.

The D.C. medical examiner preliminarily found he died of an aortic dissection, a rupture of the aorta, after medics responded to his Capitol Hill home for chest pains.

Graham had just returned from Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to push his signature Russia sanctions bill, and was booked for his 64th appearance on Meet the Press.

President Trump called him "one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known" and a "true American Patriot." Tributes poured in from both parties as a scramble began over filling his seat. Trump hinted he already has a favorite.

US Hits Iran Again as Strait Fight Grows

The U.S. military struck Iran again overnight into early this morning, its fourth round in a week, as the standoff over the Strait of Hormuz threatens to collapse peace negotiations.

Sunday's strikes hit about 140 targets after Iran set a container ship ablaze, leaving an Indian crew member missing. "We bombed the hell out of them last night," President Trump said.

Iran retaliated with missiles and drones at five countries hosting U.S. forces (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, and Oman), wounding three people in Qatar, including a child.

Tehran insists the strait stays closed until calm returns. Washington says ships are still moving. Mediators are still working to save the interim deal, now at its halfway point.

Thomas Jefferson's handwritten first draft of the Declaration of Independence, complete with edits from Benjamin Franklin and John Adams, is on display at the Library of Congress for America's 250th birthday.

The draft anchors more than 120 treasures, including Abraham Lincoln's handwritten Gettysburg Address and a 54½-foot petition from 3,000 South Carolinians demanding voting rights after the Civil War.
