Good Morning! On this day in 1953, following a years-long debate, Florida lawmakers designated the sabal palmetto as the official state tree. Native to the Southeast, Cuba, and the Bahamas, the hardy palm can grow up to 65 feet tall and has long provided food, including the edible “heart of palm.” Scientists have argued for years over whether that one drink a day is helping you or hurting you, and a new study just came back with conclusive results. On today's episode of The Flyover Podcast, Ayla breaks down exactly what the latest research says about alcohol consumption and how it affects your health. Tune in here! Later today, you’ll receive a message from our sponsor, EnergyX, about a current investment opportunity and its work to meet rising lithium demand from EVs, data centers, and grid storage. Today's sponsor, Incogni, helps protect your privacy by removing your personal information from data broker databases, the same sources scammers use to find your phone number, address, and other sensitive details, and right now you can save 55% with code FLYOVER

Hurricane Season Forecast Shrinks Again
Colorado State University researchers cut their Atlantic hurricane outlook again on Wednesday, now calling for 11 named storms, five hurricanes, and two major hurricanes, down from 13 storms and six hurricanes in April. A strong El Niño expected during the season's peak is the main driver, churning up wind shear that tears developing storms apart. The update matches the federal outlook, which gives a 55% chance of a below-normal season. Forecasters still urge preparation, warning it only takes one landfall to make it a bad season. An average year produces 14 named storms and seven hurricanes. |
