CAIR Makes Terrorist List, Orange Juice Revenue Up, and Jefferson County Turns 200

Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Cabinet voted Tuesday to designate more than 90 groups as terrorist organizations, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Muslim Brotherhood, and antifa. Most, like Tren de Aragua, already carry federal designations.

Citadel CEO Ken Griffin is giving Carnegie Mellon University $3 billion, with $2 billion to build a new Wynwood campus in Miami. It's slated to start enrolling students in 2028 and eventually serve more than 3,500.

The university calls it the largest individual gift in higher education history, topping Michael Bloomberg's $1.8 billion to Johns Hopkins in 2018. The other $1 billion goes to CMU's Pittsburgh home campus, where the School of Computer Science will be renamed for Griffin.

CMU Miami will organize studies around challenges such as health, national security, energy, and manufacturing instead of traditional majors. Griffin, who moved Citadel's headquarters from Chicago to Miami in 2022, called the campus "a generational opportunity" when CMU announced the gift on Wednesday.

Article Icon 1Florida Labels CAIR a Terrorist Group

Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Cabinet voted on Tuesday to designate more than 90 groups as terrorist organizations, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Muslim Brotherhood, and antifa. Most, like Tren de Aragua, already carry federal designations.

The 427-page state document alleges CAIR has ties to Hamas. Under the new law, Florida College System students who "promote" designated groups must be expelled, and public campuses can't fund programs that promote them.

The designations take effect on Nov. 5, but the ACLU plans to ask a federal judge on Thursday to block them on CAIR-Florida's behalf. The ACLU's Hina Shamsi said the state's notice cites no evidence of "any violent or dangerous act." A judge blocked DeSantis' earlier executive order against CAIR in March.

Article Icon 1Florida Rolls Out Redesigned Licenses

Floridians getting a new license or ID receive a redesigned card featuring Castillo de San Marcos, a manatee, and Space Shuttle Discovery. An orange forms the "O" in "Florida," a gator sits inside the REAL ID star, and the back carries "Let Us Alone," the motto from the state's first unofficial flag.

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis unveiled the design at Tuesday's Cabinet meeting. The card also adds the state seal as a security feature and a "Temporary Non-Domiciled" marking for commercial driver licenses and learner's permits.

Service centers began issuing the cards on Wednesday, with online orders expected by early November. Nobody has to rush out: current cards remain valid and only need replacing at expiration or after a name or address change.

Before You Spend Money on Peptides, See What Your DNA Says

Peptides have become one of the biggest topics of conversation in anti-aging, longevity, weight loss, recovery, and muscle growth. But here’s the problem: the same peptide may not work the same way for everyone.

The Pep Report analyzes more than 710,000 genetic markers and compares them against published research to help identify which peptides and nutraceuticals your biology may support.

And because your DNA doesn’t change, you only need to test it once. A simple cheek swab gives you genetic information you can reference as you explore different options, rather than spending money blindly and hoping something works.

The Flyover readers automatically get 10% off, no code needed. See which peptides match your DNA.
