Political groups across the spectrum are using partisan voter guides to target sitting judges for removal in next week's elections.

Among them, the conservative Freedom Club PAC opposes a mix of Republican- and Democrat-appointed judges, while the progressive Arizona Judge Watch lists 37 judges to reject.

In April, the state's Commission on Judicial Performance Review said every judge on the ballot met its standards. Chief Justice Ann Timmer urged voters to review those evaluations rather than rely on partisan lists.

One Supreme Court justice and 81 judges are up for retention votes in 2026. They are listed without party affiliation.

The Tucson Auto Museum will close after 15 years on Dec. 31, sending a collection that drew visitors from near and far to the auction block.

Kruse Auctions will hold a sale of about 80 cars and vintage memorabilia on Jan. 28, during Arizona Car Week.

Highlights include a rare 1948 Kurtis-Omohundro Comet, a Cadillac limousine built for John D. Rockefeller Jr., and a drivable Batmobile.

Museum director Otton Suarez said he is working with auctioneers to identify collectors interested in keeping some of the cars in Tucson.

Maricopa County reported five times the average number of flu cases for late October, a level usually seen during November and December.

Experts recommend getting a flu shot by the end of October, since a shot takes two weeks to become fully effective.

The county's respiratory dashboard showed flu cases rising 14.1% in one week earlier this month, while RSV cases doubled.

Last season, flu activity nationwide hit its highest level in 25 years, and emergency rooms reported more patients with flu-like symptoms.
