Article Icon 1Feds Suspect ASU of Visa Fraud

Vice President JD Vance on Thursday named Arizona State University among nine schools facing a federal investigation into suspected visa fraud involving foreign researchers.

J-1 visa holders account for about 61% of researchers on federally funded grants at ASU and the eight other schools, compared with a national average of 38%, Vance said.

The practice undercuts wages for American graduate students and researchers, he said. Harvard, Yale, Stanford, and MIT are among the other universities named.

ASU denied wrongdoing, saying it educates more STEM majors than any other university and follows U.S. laws and policies in its hiring.

Forecasters expect remnants of Tropical Storm Rachel to bring rain, gusty winds, and much cooler temperatures to Arizona this weekend as the system moves inland.

Western and northern Arizona could see the heaviest rain, with 1 to 2 inches possible from Saturday night through Monday.

Phoenix highs could fall to the mid-80s by Sunday, with rain chances climbing to about 90%. Wind gusts could reach 30 to 40 mph in the Valley.

In Tucson, forecasters expect the strongest winds midday Sunday, possibly prompting a wind advisory or high wind warning.

Three Arizona neighborhoods are among 150 finalists in Reese's nationwide search for the Trick-or-Treatiest Street in America, based on their "haul score" and "haunt score."

The neighborhoods are East Agritopia Loop North in Gilbert, praised for massive decorations; East Del Cadena Drive in Scottsdale's McCormick Ranch, where homes reportedly hand out king-size candy bars; and the historic home-lined Palmcroft Drive SE in Phoenix.

You can read more about them here.

The candy brand narrowed the list using Halloween purchasing data, community insights, and a survey of 15,000 Americans. A celebrity Halloween Council will name the winner on Oct. 21, and the top street gets a Reese's block party.

The Investment Hiding Inside Every AI Chip

Everyone knows AI is powered by chips. Almost nobody knows those chips run on tungsten.

It's one of Earth's hardest-to-replace metals. Yet somehow, America produces almost none. United States Tungsten is changing that.

They’re redeveloping what was once America’s largest tungsten facility, the “Tungsten Queen” in North Carolina. It holds roughly 1M tons of minerals, worth $665M+ at today’s prices.

Right on time, too. America’s biggest AI rival, China, supplies 84% of global tungsten. It’s already tightened exports. There's no telling how long that door will stay open for American companies.

Now’s your chance to invest as United States Tungsten works to open a new door at home. Become a shareholder before midnight PT tonight to qualify for up to 23% in United States Tungsten bonus shares.

Unlocking America’s $665M ‘Tungsten Queen’

The U.S. is racing to rebuild a critical mineral supply chain. Tungsten is essential to the military, but China controls 84% of the global supply.

So the government is phasing out tungsten imports from adversaries and growing the domestic supply. That’s a serious opportunity in America, and United States Tungsten is taking advantage.

They’re reviving what was once America's largest tungsten facility, home to $665M+ worth of minerals at today’s prices.

The going rate’s already up by 500% in the past year. And this is a rare chance for you to invest in a proven asset.

But you only have until midnight PT to make the most of it. Invest in United States Tungsten before tonight’s deadline to qualify for up to 23% in bonus shares.
