Good Morning! On this day in 1821, James Long and his band of soldiers surrendered at La BahΓa (present-day Goliad) to Mexican forces under Col. Juan Ignacio PΓ©rez. The Long expedition was an attempt to liberate Texas from Spain. Is a blood sugar spike after a meal actually a bad thing? The glucose monitors that changed life for millions of diabetics are now showing up on everyone else, from marathon runners to your coworker counting carbs. But there's a catch. New research found the sensors overestimated blood sugar by about 30% in people without diabetes, and the spike scaring you might not even be real. Christopher has the full story on today's episode of The Flyover Podcast. Tune in here! Later today, watch for a message from our partner, Doroni Aerospace, about its two-seat personal electric aircraft and an opportunity to invest as the company moves toward flight testing and FAA certification. Today’s sponsor, Infinity Fuel, is developing lightweight, long-duration power technology for aerospace and defense applications, with more than $60 million in past and current contracts involving organizations including NASA and the U.S. Navy.

Fort Hood Shooter Execution Set
The Army is scheduled to execute Nidal Hasan by firing squad at Fort Hood on Dec. 3, acting Army Secretary Adam Telle announced Tuesday, days after President Trump approved the method. Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, killed 13 people and wounded more than 30 at the post's Soldier Readiness Processing Center on Nov. 5, 2009. Julia Wilson, who was nine months pregnant and in a vehicle parked outside that day, said of the execution: "An eye for an eye. Too bad he doesn't have 13 of them." Then-Staff Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford took a round to the head, hit the floor, and played dead while Hasan shot him twice more. He calls the firing squad a fitting end. Whether it happens Dec. 3 is another question. Hasan has exhausted his military appeals, but his lawyers can still take the case to federal civilian courts, and no U.S. service member has been shot by firing squad since 1945. |
Texas Executes Man in Silsbee Killing
Texas executed Jamaal Howard, 46, by lethal injection Wednesday evening at the Huntsville Unit for fatally shooting convenience store clerk Vickie Swartout during a 2000 robbery in Silsbee. Howard apologized to Swartout's relatives, who watched through a window feet from the death chamber. "I wish that you accept my apology and I wish for your forgiveness," he said. He was pronounced dead at 8:03 p.m. Howard was 20 when he shot Swartout, 42, in the chest at the store, about 100 miles northeast of Houston. Surveillance video shown at trial captured the shooting, and court records say he took $114 and a carton of cigarettes. The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court denied his final appeals without comment. His lawyers argued he was intellectually disabled and that Texas' pentobarbital was degraded after Tennessee's failed execution of Christa Pike. |
Where Texas Wages Climbed Most
Workers in Coke County, a West Texas county of 3,412 people, now average $2,408 a week, the state's highest average weekly wage and double what employees there earned in 2021. Nine of the 15 counties with the biggest five-year wage gains sit in the High Plains and West Texas, where smaller payrolls make averages swing sharply. In Coke County, researchers tied the jump to the Aviator Wind Farm, which began operating in 2020. Among the state's 28 largest counties, Travis County workers earned the most at $2,061 a week on average in the fourth quarter of 2025, while Hidalgo County trailed at $884. Only six of the 28 counties beat the national average of $1,569. Climbing into the top 1% of Texas earners now takes $817,158 per year, roughly $73,000 more than a year ago, and the 11th-highest bar in the country. That estimate rests on 2022 IRS returns adjusted to 2026 dollars. |

Kiss “The Battery Trap” Goodbye
In physics, the “Battery Trap” is well known. To make one last twice as long, it must be twice as big.
But a company named Infinity Fuel has already escaped that trap, finally providing critical industries like aerospace and defense with lightweight, long-range, reliable power.
And the demand speaks for itself. NASA signed a deal with Infinity to illuminate the Moon during 14-day lunar nights. The US Navy signed one with them to power underwater drones. Their tech was even involved with two separate Blue Origin launches.
In total, Infinity has earned more than $60M in past and current contracts. Now, as production scales to meet demand, they’re inviting you to own a piece.
Even better? If you invest by October 15, you’ll maximize your shares with 5% guaranteed bonus stock. Become an early-stage Infinity investor before this offer’s gone.
