Good Morning! On this day in 1943, a Category 2 hurricane struck the Houston-Galveston area with little warning. Dubbed the Surprise Hurricane of 1943, it killed 19 people, injured hundreds more, and caused the worst damage in the region since the 1915 storm.

Dallas Police Arrest 12 for Anti-Israel Protests

Dallas police say 12 people were arrested after allegedly becoming unruly as part of an anti-Israel protest that spilled over into a nearby building.

The protest took place in Uptown Dallas around 5 p.m. on Friday, and after calling for backup, police arrested nine on charges of criminal trespass, two for interference with public duties, and one for interference, resisting, and assaulting a public servant.

The same group organizing the protest later staged a sit-in protest at the jail where the detainees were placed. No further arrests were made.

San Antonio Considering More Than $350 Million Toward Spurs Project

San Antonio officials confirmed plans to contribute between $350 million and $500 million toward a $1.5 billion downtown arena project anchored by the Spurs, following nearly a year of discussions.

The source of the funding, according to City Manager Erik Walsh, may come from leasing the property to the Spurs and others, or revenue generated from a special Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ).

Multiple residents voiced opposition to the city's plans during the meeting and at a protest outside City Hall.

City officials emphasized the numbers are not final and remain subject to change following community engagement sessions and an economic analysis. You can see a video of the testimonies here.

List: Texas Hotel Restaurants Make Top 100

The guide to the top 100 hotel restaurants in the U.S. has recognized nine Texas establishments, including four in North Texas.

Data was collected and rankings were based on diner reviews, percentage of bookings made in advance, and five-star reviews. Stillwell's and Fearing's in Dallas, Trick Rider in Frisco, and 97 West Kitchen + Bar in Fort Worth all earned spots on the prestigious list.

Austin was the most represented Texas city with three restaurants on the list: Dean's Italian Steakhouse, La Piscina, and The Peacock Mediterranean Grill.
