Dear Friends, 

As January comes to a close, it's the perfect time to reflect on the progress we've made and set our sights on the opportunities that February will bring.


February is celebrated as Black History Month in Brampton, recognizing and honouring the significant contributions of Black Canadians to the city's cultural, social and historical landscape. Throughout the month, various events, activities and educational programs are organized to highlight the achievements of Black individuals and celebrate the rich diversity within the community. Experience the legendary 54.40 live in concert on February 1st at the Rose Theatre in Brampton. For over 40 years, 54.40 has been a staple in the Canadian music scene. This year's edition is poised to continue its rich tradition of bringing together talented artists and music lovers across the country. For more information, CLICK HERE. 


Get ready for an unforgettable night as Brampton's vibrant artistic community comes together at The Rose Studio on February 6th for the HYPE event! This dynamic evening will showcase the sensational talent of local singers and dancers, celebrating Brampton's incredible artistic diversity. More details HERE. 


On February 7th, Brampton will honour Gloria Baylis, a Barbadian-Canadian whose fight against workplace racial discrimination shaped Canada's equity laws and opened doors for many. Baylis dedicated her life to challenging systemic inequality and advocating for marginalized communities. Her efforts led to significant changes in workplace policies, creating more inclusive environments for all workers. Join us in remembering Gloria Baylis and her lasting impact on Canadian society. The Gruffalo's Child is coming to Brampton! On February 11th, the beloved sequel to The Gruffalo will take the stage at the Rose Theatre. Presented by Tall Stories, this delightful live theatre production brings the enchanting story of the Gruffalo's adventurous child to life with captivating puppetry, music and lots of fun. National Flag Day on February 15th is a time to celebrate Canada's iconic red and white maple leaf flag. This day marks the anniversary of the flag's first official raising in 1965, symbolizing unity, pride and the country's diverse heritage. It's a great opportunity for Canadians to reflect on the values of inclusivity and patriotism while showing pride for the flag that represents the nation's identity.


On February 15th, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra invites you to set sail on a Caribbean adventure, blending the rhythm of calypso beats with the magic of orchestral music. Family Day on February 17th is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with loved ones in Brampton! You can enjoy the outdoors by visiting Chinguacousy Park and head to Mount Chinguacousy for some sledding or tubing. If you prefer a more relaxed day, stroll through downtown Brampton, exploring the local shops and cafes.
