CEO Tim Cook emphasized Apple's commitment to American innovation with the announcement, aligning with President Trump's push for increased domestic production. The tech giant plans to start producing servers in Houston later this year, with a 250,000-square-foot server manufacturing facility in Texas scheduled to open in 2026. Earlier this month, the U.S. placed a 10% tariff on all Chinese goods, which could raise the cost of components Apple imports from China for its devices. | 3 Dead, 1 Missing After NY Fishing Boat Capsizes Three people have died, and one remains missing after a fishing boat capsized Sunday in frigid New York Harbor waters off Staten Island. Coast Guard crews continued their search Monday for 52-year-old Vernon Glasford of the Bronx, who remains missing. The 30-foot Grady White vessel began taking on water and sinking in the Ambrose Channel, the city's main shipping lane, around noon, prompting a distress call. See photos here. Rescuers tracked the caller's cell phone, which was still pinging from underwater, to locate the sunken boat. Of the five people pulled from the 38-degree waters, four were unconscious when rescued, with one now in critical condition and another listed as stable. | American Pets: Dogs vs. Cats Almost 114 million Americans own at least one pet, with dogs being the most popular choice at 59.8 million, followed by cat ownership at 42.2 million, according to a U.S. pet ownership analysis. The American Veterinary Medical Association reports that 45.5% of U.S. households own dogs, and 32.1% have cats. Other pets include fish (2.9%), reptiles (1.8%), and birds (1.6%). In 2023, pet spending in America reached $186 billion, and it's projected to hit $260 billion by 2030. Cats are the least expensive pets, averaging $1,311 a year, due to their low-maintenance and independent nature, compared to $1,516 for other animals. Love reading The Flyover?
