Iran Talks Collapse, Trump Orders Blockade
Peace talks between the United States and Iran collapsed on Sunday after more than 21 hours of negotiations in Islamabad, with Vice President JD Vance saying Iran refused to abandon its path to a nuclear weapon.
President Trump responded by announcing a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, ordering the Navy to interdict any vessel that had paid a toll to Iran for passage through the critical waterway.
U.S. Central Command has announced that it will begin a blockade of all Iranian ports on Monday at 10 a.m. ET. CENTCOM said the blockade would be “enforced impartially against vessels of all nations." But it will allow ships traveling between non-Iranian ports to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that military vessels approaching the strait would be met with force, radioing a U.S. destroyer, "This is the last warning."

Hungary's Orbán Ousted after 16 Years
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conceded defeat on Sunday after 16 years in power, calling the result clear and painful as opposition leader Péter Magyar's Tisza party surged toward a supermajority in parliament. Magyar, a 45-year-old former Orbán ally who broke with the ruling party two years ago, built a cross-ideological coalition fueled by voter frustration over economic stagnation, corruption, and crumbling public services. Turnout hit a record 79%, the highest in Hungary's post-Communist history, as thousands of Magyar supporters flooded the banks of the Danube in Budapest to celebrate. The result marks a shift for Hungary's foreign policy, as Orbán had cultivated close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin and positioned himself as a key ally of President Trump in Europe. |
Rory McIlroy's Repeat Masters Victory
Rory McIlroy won his second straight Masters yesterday at Augusta National, becoming just the fourth golfer in tournament history to go back-to-back. He’s the first since Tiger Woods in 2002. McIlroy held a six-shot lead through the tournament’s first two days, the largest in Masters history. On Saturday, however, he gave it all back and entered Sunday tied with Cameron Young for the lead. He regained control on the back nine yesterday, hitting a now-iconic shot on hole 12 to separate him from the pack. (Watch it here.) He finished at 12-under, one stroke clear of Scottie Scheffler in second place. It's his sixth career major title. McIlroy joins Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, and Tiger Woods as the only repeat Masters champions.
