He is one of a dozen or so candidates challenging incumbent John Carter, an 84-year-old Republican whose district includes several counties north of Austin. The 61-year-old Israeli-American said he was inspired to run for office by the late Charlie Kirk and a desire to stop "political infighting in the country." He added he wants to "destroy wokeism" and "make America happy." After achieving success selling the ShamWow, Shlomi made infomercials for the Slap Chop kitchen utensil and the reusable Schticky lint roller. In 2009, he made headlines when he was arrested in Miami Beach after an altercation with a sex worker, an incident for which he took "full responsibility" and credited with motivating him to change his ways. | Houston Radio Station Hacked A Houston radio station's signal was hacked Sunday afternoon, briefly interrupting its broadcast of the Cowboys-Eagles game. A racist country song and an automated voice promoting several social media profiles aired on ESPN Radio's 97.5 FM multiple times between 4 and 5 p.m. In a social media post, the station stated that its "signal had been hacked" and assured listeners that it was "actively trying to rectify the problem." On Monday, General Manager Todd Farquharson said that the station's transmitter was damaged when its radio tower experienced a power outage on Saturday, and a bot hacked the backup equipment the station used to stay on the air. "We're disappointed to be victims of this attack and the offensive messaging it broadcast," he said. "We're taking steps to prevent this from happening in the future." | Aggie Helps Create 3D Turkey Gut Model A Texas A&M undergraduate student has helped create a 3D model of a turkey's gut to facilitate the study of treatments for blackhead disease, a parasitic infection that has a mortality rate of up to 80% in poultry. Leila Chang, a senior whose interest in poultry science dates back to raising turkeys in middle school, worked with Dr. Yuhua Farnell to develop cecal organoids from turkey stem cells. The breakthrough enables researchers to study the development and treatment of blackhead disease without using live turkeys. Potential applications for the model include research on other intestinal diseases and management practices that affect poultry gut health. Chang plans to become a professor and wants to develop tools that help producers protect flocks. "Science has given me a new perspective on the turkey we eat at Thanksgiving," she said. "Knowing that what we are working on will impact this industry is very rewarding." | | | Flying together with our sponsor Children are hungry. Let's change that. Food.
