President Trump on Friday ordered nuclear submarines close to Russian waters in response to what he termed "highly provocative" threats of war from former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. The move comes a week before the deadline Trump set for Russia to agree to a Ukraine ceasefire. Medvedev warned Trump that the deadline was a step toward war, saying, "Don't go down the Sleepy Joe road!"
Trump responded on Truth Social: "I have ordered two Nuclear Submarines to be positioned in the appropriate regions, just in case these foolish and inflammatory statements are more than just that." Trump last Monday cut the deadline for a Ukraine ceasefire from 50 days to just two weeks, which Medvedev, now the deputy chairman of the Russian security council, called "a threat and a step towards war—not between Russia and Ukraine, but with his own country." | Biden Aide Had $8 Million Re-Election Incentive Former President Biden's top political aide, Mike Donilon, told congressional investigators Thursday that he was paid $4 million for his work on Biden's 2024 re-election campaign and would have made an additional $4 million if Biden had won. Donilon's salary has been reported, but the additional $4 million bonus wasn't previously known. Investigators said this shows Donilon had a financial incentive to push Biden to run for re-election despite growing doubts about the president's ability. Donilon is the latest ex-Biden administration official to be questioned by Congress as it investigates whether the former president's inner circle covered up evidence of alleged mental decline, and if executive actions were signed via autopen without Biden's full awareness.
